We hope you're having a wonderful summer so far! Between long days and heat waves, you might be itching for a place to cool off by now. We've assembled a list of a few places you can do that:
Georgia Aquarium
A natural choice for an indoor activity, the Georgia Aquarium is a stellar example of some of the best of Atlanta. With aquatic exhibits and events galore to help you escape the heat, you might even be tempted to jump into one of the tanks!
High Museum
Not only is the High Museum a cornerstone of art appreciation in Georgia, its an indoor activity that you can enjoy for free at the right time. Every second Sunday of the month lets visitors check out the museum for free, letting you escape into another world without breaking the bank.
The Battery
The tight-knit shopping centers of The Battery are the perfect way to check out a wide variety of spaces without having to stay in the sun too long. Grab a cold drink while you explore the various shops, or even catch a baseball game or concert. Check out our blog on Cobb County here to find out a little more about The Battery.
Piedmont Park
You're likely familiar with Piedmont Park, the primary urban greenspace in Atlanta, but did you know about its aquatic center? You can find a massive public pool and splash pad right inside the park, serving as a perfect place to cool off right inside the city. In addition, the many walking trails through the park shaded by towering trees create plenty of nice spots to avoid getting beaten down by the sun.
Morgan Falls Overlook Park
For a lesser known spot in Sandy Springs, Morgan Falls might be what you're looking for. Located along the Chattahoochee River, the park includes a boat dock and a paddle boarding shack for a convenient place to get your gear and get in the water. In addition, the park offers a nice variety of pavilions, swings, and of course a beautiful view of the river.
