Senoia has all the look of a quaint Southern town, but if you know anything about its impact in the last few years, you’ll know it’s anything but. Located just east of Newnan, Senoia is a tiny town with much more than meets the eye.
How far is Senoia from Atlanta? A good way off of Highway 85, Senoia is just under an hour from the center of Atlanta. This makes it a great spot for a weekend getaway, or to have a peaceful, remote place to call home that still has plenty going for it.
The Best Attractions in Senoia
Main Street

It’s the main street for a reason. With one of the most walkable areas anywhere around, you’ll have plenty to do and see in the heart of town. Grab a bite to eat at Nic and Norman’s, indulge your sweet tooth at Main Street Fudge and Ice Cream Shop, or just appreciate the historic buildings along the way. With so much to do all in one spot, it’s no wonder why this is the most popular area in town.
Senoia History Museum
Step into the past at the Senoia Area Historical Society and Museum, located just a few streets north of the downtown area. On Saturday and Sunday from 1-4, visitors can enter the museum for just five dollars. Since 2010, the museum has hosted various exhibits and information on the history of the town. You can also find monthly meetings there every second Thursday of the month, which range from guest speakers to fundraising events in hopes of involving the community.
Senoia Farmers Market
If the local restaurants weren’t enough, Senoia is no stranger to home-grown produce and farm-fresh goods. The Senoia Farmers’ Market, hosted every Saturday, is a chance for you to find fresh, whole foods and locally made crafts right alongside your neighbors. In addition, the farmers’ market has breakfast and lunch options for you to enjoy a meal or a quick snack while you shop.
The Woodbury Shoppe

The Zachos Team loves The Walking Dead, which is why the Woodbury Shoppe might be one of the highlights of the town for us. Located in downtown and known as the self-proclaimed “Walking Dead Museum,” this official store showcases the show’s history and provides plenty of merchandise for fans along the way.
Walking and Van Tours
And if the store isn’t enough, Senoia even hosts tours of key locations in the show. The Georgia Tour Company provides walking or van tours to show off filming locations, not just of The Walking Dead, but also themed around other media like Stranger Things and more. As a hub for movie production, Atlanta has plenty to show off in and around Senoia, and all you have to do to learn more is hop on a bus and let the experts show you around.

As you can see, Senoia is much more than just a little Southern town; it’s a place where community, history, and big-time productions come together to create something bigger than the sum of its parts. If you’re interested in learning more about Senoia, or perhaps even moving there, contact The Zachos Team today. We’d love to help you find more information on your dream home in the area, but be sure to watch out for walkers along the way.
