Dallas and Hiram, two cities with iconic Southern charm, are located just a short distance from one another. Both staples of Paulding County, the close proximities between towns makes it easy to visit friends, attractions, and favorite restaurants at each one while giving you an easy trip home once you’re done.

How far are Dallas and Hiram from Atlanta? Hiram is about an hour from the center of the city, and Dallas is a bit further. Not a bad deal for having your own space outside the perimeter.

The Best Attractions in Dallas and Hiram

Silver Comet Trail

Walk and bike to your heart’s content on the Silver Comet Trail, a 61.5 mile paved trail that threads straight through Hiram and very close to downtown Dallas. Long distance adventurers have their work cut out for them on this well-maintained feature of West Georgia, and residents of Dallas and Hiram have their own trailheads through which to access it just blocks away: the Hiram Trailhead and the Tara Drummond Trailhead.

Ben Hill Strickland Sr. Memorial Park

A nice local park in Hiram, Ben Hill Strickland Sr. Memorial Park is perfect for an afternoon getaway. Featuring a duck pond, playground, and pavilions available to rent, the park is perfect for celebrating events or just taking a stroll through nature at your back door.

Pickett’s Mill Battlefield State Historic Site

Known as “one of the best preserved Civil War battlefields in the nation,” Pickett’s Mill Battlefield is an unforgettable destination for those interested in seeing our country’s history. Just a short distance north of Dallas, this world-class attraction hosts tours, hiking, and even reenactments. Don’t miss this incredible look back at one of our history’s most studied periods.

Museum of Flight

An extension of the Paulding Airport, the Museum of Flight just outside of Dallas is a perfect place to learn more about aviation. Located right off the highway, the museum showcases a variety of aircraft, many of which are still able to fly. The museum also frequently makes donations to the Children’s Hospital, just like The Zachos Team.

As you can see, even outside the perimeter, there’s plenty to do and see in Paulding County. If you’d like to explore more around this area, reach out to The Zachos Team and we’ll help you find what you’re looking for.
